On 04.12.2020, a planned meeting of Russian and Finnish partners was held to discuss the future educational program in the direction of “Tourism” by teachers. The meeting was attended by Auli Haapajarvi, Erja Pohju, Irina Karkkainen, Kukka-Maaria Vesalainen from the Finnish side, as well as Olga Vakhmanova and Lina Kalinichenko from the Russian side.
As it was agreed at the previous planned meeting of the project partners on 27.11.12, a week before the scheduled meeting with the teachers, the Finnish partners sent a document reflecting their vision of the structure of the future educational program for review. In turn, the partners from the Petrovsky College made their proposals and sent them to the Finnish partners for familiarization.
At the meeting with the teachers on 04.12.2020, the Finnish colleagues introduced the Russian side to the structure of their educational program in the direction of “Tourism” and showed the final sample of the educational program template for 15 credits (240 hours), including a set of competencies necessary for the successful completion of this program, in Finnish and English, to which it was also necessary to add a Russian translation within a week from the end of the meeting.
In turn, the Russian colleagues acquainted the Finnish side with their educational program in the direction of “Tourism” and expressed their ideas regarding the future educational program of the project.
In addition, at the meeting, it was repeatedly mentioned about the expansion of the future educational program in the direction of the hotel business due to the need to attract key partners from the hospitality sector.
In this regard, both sides made a key decision regarding the implementation of the future educational program in the direction of “Tourism”, namely: the creation of a certain project within the framework of this educational program by students of a focus group that combines competencies in both tourism and hospitality.
As a result of the discussion, it was decided that Russian teachers will send their ideas regarding this project within 2 weeks from the end of the meeting, and Finnish colleagues will make their additions and changes after the New Year holidays (January 4, 2021).
A meeting to discuss the results will be held in January after the end of the New Year holidays of the Russian partners.
